Teaching Assistant
Assist instructors in teaching adult classes. Troubleshoot equipment failure and room changes, distribute handouts, take attendance, distribute and collect course evaluations, assist the instructor as necessary.
Qualifications: Willingness to learn and operate audio-visual equipment; ability to problem-solve; solid customer service skills.
Schedule: Primarily evenings and weekends, year-round. Maximum 3 classes per term.

Adult Tour Guide
Share your knowledge and love of plants by guiding guests through a variety of tours, which include: Highlights of the Main Garden, Native Plants in the Garden, Sensory Garden, Boettcher Memorial Tropical Conservatory, Water-Smart Gardens, Urban & Native Trees, Water Gardens, Winter Green (outreach tour program) or Mount Goliath Wildflower Tours.
Qualifications: Ability to speak comfortably to a group; stamina to walk for one hour; solid customer service skills.
Schedule: Varies based on tour type. Tours typically last one hour.

volunteer childrens tour guide denver botanic gardensChildren's Tour Guide
Guide small groups of children through the world of plants. Engage elementary school children (K through 6) in a mix of pre-designed classroom activities and hands-on outdoor interactive activities.
Qualifications: Patience and a sense of humor; ability to engage children in learning and redirect behavior; teaching experience helpful, but not necessary.
Schedule: Varies based on tour type. Each program is two hours long.

Touch Cart Guide
Staff an interactive, mobile touch cart in the Gardens. Engage visitors in hands on demonstrations of various plant related topics.
Qualifications: Ability to actively engage guests in cart activities.
Schedule: Primarily weekends, free days, special events, but additional times could be added pending volunteer availability.

Especially for kids: Get your hands dirty in the soil station!

It's a fact: The alligator drum and giant amadinda are musical instruments made from plants.

Botanical interest: Children are encouraged to interact with plants, including smelling fragrant chives (Allium schoenoprasum), touching lamb’s ear (Stachys byzantina) and soft artemisia (Artemisia schmidtiana ‘Silver Mound’).
