Herbalism Certificate

This program is designed to inspire each student to be more connected to nature, learn the powers of plants and become healthier and happier: mind, body and soul.

For thousands of years, plants have been used to promote healthy natural living. This is the basis for the Herbalism Certificate programs at Denver Botanic Gardens. This series offers a unique learning experience to transform each student into a confident, knowledgeable, and resourceful steward of plants. Classes are offered only as a full series.

Summer Herbal Certificate Program – Seed to Remedy

This program offers a unique learning experience to transform each student into a confident, knowledgeable and resourceful steward of plants by introducing practical and powerful herbalism knowledge. Classes focus on a variety of medicinal plants, including ones grown onsite at the Gardens as well as those native to Colorado. Led by some of the region’s most experienced herbalists, students are guided through every step with a hands-on teaching approach. Classes take place in the classroom, in the Gardens and out in the field. To earn the certificate, students must attend at least nine classes in person. Students will have the opportunity to present a final project based on the cumulative knowledge gained during the course.

The Summer Herbalism Program runs from June 16 to September 19. Classes are on various Tuesdays and Saturdays.
