Build A Bug Hotel Workshop

Celebrate Pollinator Month by building something that gives back. In this 60-minute hands-on workshop, you'll learn about what pollinators need to thrive then build and decorate an insect “hotel”, a small sanctuary designed to welcome and support biodiversity.

Learn from Sonya Anderson, staff member and manager of Horticulture, who kicks things off with an expert look at pollinators: who they are, what they do and why they matter. Then Holly Nordeck, practicing artist and Exhibitions staff member guides you through creating your very own bug hotel to take home, with plenty of room to make it your own. All supplies are included.

Onsite: Tuesday, June 30, 10 a.m. - noon

Location: Freyer – Newman Center at 1085 York Street, Classroom 3

Instructor: Holly Nordeck

Fee: $45 member, $55 non-member
