Join Us for World Water Day, March 23

March 19, 2024 Exhibits Department

Here at Denver Botanic Gardens, water is woven into everything we do, whether we’re planting water-smart gardens, conducting research at Deer Creek near Chatfield Farms or educating the public about water issues in our region. The Gardens couldn’t exist without water, and neither could you!

We invite you to join us in celebrating this precious resource on World Water Day, Saturday, March 23, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at our York Street location.

Explore our gardens and discover hands-on activities for the whole family: learn about conservation, gardening, art and more.

  • Drop in for a Science Chat to learn more about water issues in Colorado or visit a learning cart to explore the role of plants in the water cycle.
  • Get tips from experts during a water-smart gardening Q&A.
  • Join a paper-marbling art activity with the School of Botanical Art & Illustration.
  • Watch water-related films in Sturm Family Auditorium and stick around for a conversation with the directors.
  • Stop by for a panel discussion on poetry, water issues and Indigeneity with The Word: A Storytelling Sanctuary and National Endowment for the Arts Big Read.
  • Build your own terrarium at a family-friendly drop-in activity.

The theme of World Water Day 2024 is “Water for Peace.” By fostering understanding and cooperation around water worldwide, we can build a better future together.
