About Printmaking:
Printmaking is a versatile art form where artists create images by transferring an image onto paper or other materials. Each printmaking technique offers unique visual qualities and creative possibilities:
- Lithography uses the resistant relationship between oil and water to create smooth, painterly images
- Relief printing involves carving away material, leaving raised areas to be inked
- Intaglio creates lines and textures by incising into metal plates
- Screen printing pushes ink through a mesh screen to create graphic images
- Monotype produces one-of-a-kind prints
