The Gardens’ programs for toddlers and preschoolers focus on hands-on experiences with nature that stimulate the senses and meet the developmental needs of the whole child while fostering a lifelong appreciation for plants and the natural world. Instructors guide young budding naturalists and their caregivers through playful garden explorations, art projects, planting activities and more.

Seedlings classes at Denver Botanic Gardens York Street offer a fun, hands-on way for young children, ages 18 months to six years, to explore the natural world while developing an understanding and appreciation for plants and their importance.
Story time and nature hikes unite in this program at Chatfield Farms for preschool-age children. Each week venture out around the grounds of Chatfield Farms and investigate nature as it changes with the seasons. Strolling Stories programs are scheduled in the fall and spring.
Prairie Pup Adventures at the Plains Conservation Center offers a fun, hands-on way for preschool-age children to learn about the animals, plants and people who call the prairie home.
