Homeschool Day: Be a Botanist

Spend a day in the boots of a botanist and investigate plants like a scientist. Explore the tools botanists use in the field, examine herbarium specimens, and learn how biodiversity research at Denver Botanic Gardens is applied to real-world conservation efforts.

 

Homeschool Days offer families the opportunity to explore plant-based themes through a variety of hands-on explorations and take-home projects that children and their grown ups complete together. These self-guided and self-paced programs are set up with several activity stations throughout the Gardens for families to explore the day's topic.

 

Program Location: Depending on the weather and time of year, Homeschool Day activity stations can be located both indoors and outdoors. Come prepared to spend time indoors and outdoors. Check in for the program is between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Activity station are open for exploration between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

 

Audience: Families with children ages 6 - 10 years

 

Price: $14 non-member; $12 per day per child; One adult per child is free of charge. Additional adults and non-participating siblings ages 3 and up are $7 each. Non-participating siblings do not participate in take home activities.

 

Cancellations: Cancellations more than one week prior to a class are subject to a 15% cancellation fee. Cancellations with less than one week's notice are non-refundable.
