You Grow Girl! Begin Your Girl Scout Adventure

August 12, 2024 Education Department

As the seasons shift and our summer greenery is replaced by the colors of fall, we find the perfect time for Daisies to bloom! Plant enthusiasts may cry “nay!” but this is not just any kind of daisy. This very special daisy is the Daisy Girl Scout. On Sunday, August 25 from 10 a.m. to noon, families with girls entering pre-k, kindergarten or first grade are invited to join us for a fun flower power event and learn what it means to be a Girl Scout.

This event is hosted by Denver Botanic Gardens and powered by the Girl Scouts of Colorado. Children registered for the program will participate in a variety of plant-themed, hands-on activities and be introduced to parts of the Daisy program and the Girl Scout Law.

Activities include:

  • The Girl Scout Promise Circle: Plant a seed to grow alongside you in your new Daisy adventures.
  • Honest and Fair: Act out different kinds of plants in a Simon Says-style game. No cheating, Scout’s Honor!
  • Use Resources Wisely: Practice environmental stewardship with a craft using recycled materials.
  • Make the World a Better Place: Learn how to be a community scientist.
  • Be a Sister to Every Girl Scout: Use plants to make a special card for someone or leave a note and take a note for a sister Girl Scout!

Pre-registration is highly encouraged.
