Rocky Mountain Gardening Required Course

This 2-session course is for beginners as well as seasoned gardeners and everyone interested in trees. Gain a greater appreciation of the urban forest that surrounds you as well as the forests of greater Colorado. Trees are part of the foundation of life on earth. They clean our air, filter our water, absorb CO2, regulate our temperatures and provide homes to a range of biodiversity.

In these two sessions:

  • Explore the botany of trees
  • Learn tree identification skills and how to find identification resources
  • Understand science of tree planting and the value of adding to the urban forest
  • Determine the best choices for your landscape between Colorado native and introduced species
  • Engage in hands-on activities to develop tree identification skills

" A single tree can be home to hundreds of species of insect, fungi, moss, mammals and plants. "- The Arbor Day Foundation

Let's learn about them so we don't take them for granted.
