Spring Plant Sale Pregame: Gardening for Pollinators

Rocky Mountain Gardening Elective

We host countless beneficial insects and birds as well as bats. There are 963 species of native bees in Colorado's Front Range. All require your help to provide food, shelter and water to perform the huge task of pollinating the crops we eat, repopulate plants and add great diversity to our environment. How can we make our landscapes hospitable and attractive for these creatures? Learn which pollinators are attracted to which characteristics in certain plants, how to attract the ones you specifically want and how to select the perfect plants to do so. Also learn how to deal with the ones you do not want in your garden and how to accept a little insect pressure. This class will inspire you to try new plants and watch your landscape come alive!

Spring Plant Sale Pregame is an all-day event with a variety of classes presented by our top water-smart experts to prepare you for a successful planting and landscape design season. During the upcoming Spring Plant Sale, Denver Botanic Gardens offers such a wide variety of plants that shoppers often don't know where to begin! All participants receive a comprehensive list of low-water and sustainable plants sold at Spring Plant Sale.
