Interns from Argentina
During the summer of 2017, in addition to interns from around the country, the Gardens hosted international interns from Argentina. Three students enrolled in the horticulture program at the University of Rio Negro in Bariloche, Argentina joined us in late June and spent time with us through early September learning propagation and production techniques. The internship provided them with training on techniques that they can apply in their country. This was part of an agreement signed between Denver Botanic Gardens and the University of Rio Negro in 2015.
Greening of the City Summit in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
At the invitation of the City of Ulaanbaatar’s Mayor, Bat-Uul E., a delegation from Denver Botanic Gardens visited Mongolia Aug. 31 – Sept. 12, 2013. The main objective of this visit was to offer the “Greening of the City Summit” in collaboration with the Ulaanbaatar City’s Environment and Green Development Agency. During our stay, we participated in numerous meetings with various city and national agencies such as National Garden Park, Environment and Green Development Agency of Capital City, Mongolian Academy of Sciences, Mongolian Botanic Garden, City Maintenance and Public Utilities Agency, Hural City Council members and Mongolian State University of Agriculture.
