Cub Scout Exploration Day: Compost

Cub Scouts of all levels are invited to join us for an adventure in composting. During this program we will explore what critters live in our soil and keep it healthy, play a game to learn how we can reduce our production of trash and each Cub Scout will create their very own miniature worm bin starter to take home.

Program Format: Cub Scout Exploration Days offer Cub Scouts the opportunity to explore plant-based themes through a variety of hands-on activities and take-home projects. Each Exploration Day offers several activity stations for groups to explore. Group leaders are provided with materials and instructions needed to guide their group through each activity station.

Program Location: Depending on the time of year and weather, activity stations and explorations may take place indoors or outdoors. Your group should be prepared to spend time both indoors and outdoors. Depending on the size and interests of your group, the program will take about 1 - 2 hours to complete.

Audience: All Level Cub Scouts

Program Fee: $12 per Cub Scout; 1 Group Leader is required for every 7 Cub Scouts. Group Leaders are free of charge. Group Leaders are responsible for leading and guiding their group through the activity stations.

Additional adults and non-participating siblings are an additional $7 each. Non-participating siblings do not participate in take home activities. Additional adults and non-participating siblings are welcome to follow the group through the activity stations or explore the Gardens on their own.

Registration Instructions: Register 1 Group Leader for every 7 Cub Scouts registered. If your group is less than 7 scouts, please include 1 complimentary Group Leader Ticket with your registration. Only those registered as Cub Scouts will participate in take home activities. Siblings who would like to participate in take home activities should be registered as a scout.
