Embroidery as Meditation: Connecting to the Natural World
Using the plants at the Botanic Gardens for subject matter and inspiration, participants will use different techniques to develop patterns and shapes that they will then translate into an embroidery piece.
The observation of the plantings, drawing and stitching will all be guided, meditative practices.

Elizabeth has been teaching art in various settings for 20 years. Ten years ago, she became certified to teach Mindfulness and since then, has been interested in finding ways to combine artistic practices and Mindfulness meditation. She has a BFA and an MFA in Fine Art. She also has a studio practice and has exhibited widely in Colorado and Ohio.
