The Native Garden- A Plant Design Course
Rocky Mountain Gardening Elective
In this four-session course, learn how to assess and design a native perennial garden for your own home. View design examples, learn the tenants of good plant design and have homework in between sessions. By the end of the course, you will have completed your own on-site analysis, base sheet preparation, plant lists and finalized design. Please do not come asking for hydrangeas and peonies. This course is geared toward native, short-grass prairie plants that fit into Front Range gardens. Let's get to work!
Session 1: Introduction to planting design, site analysis and making a base sheet.
Homework: Measure your own space and create a base sheet.
Session 2: Designing a garden for four seasons.

Session 3: How to start and design demonstration.
