Vermicompost 101
Rocky Mountain Gardening Elective
This class is a great introduction to the worms you must use and the types of containers you can build yourself. Worms are particularly important organisms. They are responsible for the top two-inch layer of soil on earth which we refer to as topsoil. Learn the basic principles of how the composting worm, the original regenerative farmers, support the reduce, reuse, recycle and rebuild cycle in your home landscape or garden.
Worm composting, or vermicomposting, is one of the easiest ways to create powerfully charged soil amendments. Vermicompost is the result of the breakdown of organic material by worms. It has been shown to contain reduced levels of contaminants and a higher level of nutrients than organic materials.
