Personal Statement
My position encompasses two major objectives: floristics and science outreach. For floristics, I build the natural history collections for the Kathryn Kalmbach Herbarium of Vascular Plants and the Sam Mitchel Herbarium of Fungi, through targeted biodiversity surveys and identification of gaps in the collections. For outreach, I aim to connect people with plants, nature and science through educational media and activities. I use my background in research and education to interpret the science conducted within the Gardens’ Research and Conservation Department for a public and scientific audience.
