Research Areas
Colorado Flora, especially Poaceae and Cyperaceae
Personal Statement
My work includes building the vascular plant collection of the Kathryn Kalmbach Herbarium by documenting under-collected areas of Colorado, especially the eastern plains. I am particularly interested in the Poaceae and Carex of the Cyperaceae. In 2017 I published a book on the Carices of Colorado, which includes keys, descriptions and illustrations of 116 species of Carex found in Colorado. I am currently revising my Colorado grass book originally published in 1994. The revision will include illustrated keys, descriptions and distribution maps of over 325 species of grasses found in Colorado.
